Support for Ukraine's Abandoned Children
Armed conflict, family poverty, unemployment, alcoholism and drug use have fueled mass abandonment of children in Ukraine. Of the country's eight million children, some 96,000 live in state-run institutions*. In His Hands works to support these children in the following ways.
We host regular meetings and exhibit at local conferences to spread awareness of the social orphan crisis that impacts Ukraine, and to serve as a resource for families who are considering adoption.
We provide grants to assist families that have begun the adoption process, but are struggling to cover the cost. So far, In His Hands has funded the adoptions of 10 children from Ukraine.
